Your Cary Orthodontics Pro

Dr. Foley

Dr. John Foley grew up in Lake Zurich, IL, and knew from a young age that he wanted to be an orthodontist.

After completing his education, Dr. Foley went on to create healthy, beautiful smiles in suburban Chicago before settling in the Cary area with his wife five years ago.

Dr. Foley graduated from the University of Illinois College of Dentistry with his Doctor of Dental Science degree.

He was honored to be the only dentist selected to study orthodontics at the prestigious Mayo Clinic hospital in Rochester, MN following dental school.

Dr. Foley is a board-certified orthodontist, a designation held by only 30% of orthodontists.

Cary Braces

Traditional braces are one of the most efficient orthodontic tools we have. They're made out of metal or ceramic brackets that are attached to the teeth, then connected by wires and tiny rubber bands or elastics. These brackets, wires, and bands work together to apply the gentle pressure that will gradually move the teeth into the positions we want them to be in if you have regular adjustments with our doctors.

Cary braces are an excellent choice for correcting complex tooth issues. Because they can sometimes work faster at aligning teeth and closing gaps than other treatments might, overall treatment time may be slightly reduced. Braces don't need some of the more complex technology or expensive equipment that newer treatments can, making Cary braces a cost-effective orthodontic option.

Cary Invisalign

Invisalign are incredibly popular with both patients and orthodontists and is the top alternative to traditional braces. Instead of brackets and bands, Cary Invisalign system uses a series of clear, removable aligners to gradually straighten your teeth.

Invisalign aligners are made of a comfortable plastic material and customized to fit snugly over your teeth. In order to keep your teeth moving in the direction you want them to, you'll generally need to switch your invisible trays out every 1-2 weeks for the next in the series. The Invisalign system can only work if the recommended guidelines are followed exactly! Aligners should be worn 20-22 hours per day throughout treatment. If patients neglect to wear the aligners as directed, it can impede the results and also add time to the orthodontic process.

Invisalign is at its most efficient when correcting many of the most common orthodontic issues. For some complex cases, Invisalign may not be a good option. A free consultation with Foley Orthodontics will allow us to determine your Invisalign eligibility.
